And <strong><u>despite the recognition that the majority of environmental causes are linked to nutrition<\/u>, <\/strong>less than 1 per cent of the National Cancer Institute budget is devoted to nutrition studies<strong>.<\/strong> And even that small amount had to be forced on the Institute by a special amendment of the National Cancer Act in 1974.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Simply\u00a0put, treating disease is enormously profitable, and preventing it is not.<\/p>\n<p><strong>That\u2019s why all cancer research in America is geared toward\u00a0developing\u00a0drugs and procedures that make an enormous profit for the Medical\/Big Pharma industrial complex.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Finding a simple and elegant cure for cancer will put thousands of researchers out of work and create an economic crisis. Sad but true.<\/p>\n<p>(Follow <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rense.com\/general9\/cre.htm\">this link<\/a> for more information.)<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The Answer: Beyond Conventional Oncology\u00a0in Treating Cancer<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A recent study at the University of California, San Francisco, showed that an overwhelming majority (95 percent) of cancer patients want to incorporate complementary treatments in their care. But even though patients are increasingly seeking an integrative approach, the medical community has been slow to accept the trend.<\/p>\n<p>The perception among doctors is that there\u2019s insufficient scientific evidence to justify integrative care, and that patients and their families should pursue these treatments on their own.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_132\" style=\"width: 416px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-132\" class=\" wp-image-132\" src=\"http:\/\/www.hernandezcenter.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/food.jpg\" alt=\"Organically grown foods are known to contain thousands of cancer-preventive substances.
